Sabetay, Sergiu

Sergiu Sabetay, MD is a Specialist Neurologist, Head of the Stroke Unit, and Deputy Head of the Neurology Department at Hillel Yaffe Medical Center, Hadera, Israel.

He is a Fellow of the European Board of Neurology (FEBN) and Fellow of the Canadian Stroke Consortium – Expert (FCSC-E).

After graduating from the University of Medicine, Craiova, Romania (1996), he completed his neurology residency at Bnai Zion Medical Center, Haifa (2000–2007), where he subsequently practiced as a specialist neurologist until 2012.

Since 2012, he joined Hillel Yaffe Medical Center in Hadera, Israel, where he led the formation of the Stroke Unit, overseeing acute thrombolytic therapy, primary and secondary stroke prevention, and comprehensive cerebrovascular care. Since 2013, he has directed the Transcranial Doppler (TCD) Clinic at Hillel Yaffe.

He pursued advanced fellowship training in Stroke Medicine at Toronto Western Hospital, Toronto, Canada (2019–2020).

In parallel, since 2005, Dr. Sabetay has served as Medical Director of the “Dr. Keshev” ADHD Diagnostic Clinic in Acre.

He holds an academic appointment as Clinical Lecturer-Educator at the Rappaport Faculty of Medicine, Technion, Haifa.

His clinical and academic interests encompass acute stroke management, neurosonology and cerebrovascular ultrasound, stroke prevention, and ADHD diagnosis and management.
