Prof. Vlasta Vuković-Cvetković was born in Zagreb, Croatia where she has graduated from Zagreb Medical school, and specialized in neurology at the University Hospital „Sestre milosrdnice“ where she continued to work. She was associate professor at the Faculty of Education and Rehabilitation Sciences at University of Zagreb and University of Applied Health Sciences. From November 2014 to june 2025 she worked as a consultant neurologist at the Danish Headache Center and Stroke Unit, Department of Neurology, Rigshospital-Glostrup, Copenhagen, Denmark. Since September 2025 she has been working at the Department of Neurology, University Hospital Rijeka and Rijeka Medical School.
She has an extensive experience in the treatment of primary and secondary headaches and pain disorders (with special focus on idiopathic intracranial hypertension and spontaneous intracranial hypotension) and cerebrovascular diseases (with special focus on artery dissections, RCVS, and stroke in young patients). Furthermore her field of expertise is the application of ultrasound in neurology.
She has authored and co-authored more than 140 scientific research and review articles and book chapters.
She is dedicated in promoting research and spreading the knowledgde in the field of headache and stroke among the healthcare professionals and in the general population, giving lectures at many kongresses, symposia and teaching courses.
She is a member of several scientific societies in Croatia and Denmark. She has served as a member of advisory board for migraine. She is a member of the board of directors of the Croatian Neurological Society. She has served as the national representative for headache at the Euroepan Headache Federation, and she has recently been apointed as the representative for Croatia at the European Academy of Neurology, Panelist for Headache.
