Prof. Sharon Hassin-Baer (MD) is a Neurologist and Movement Disorders specialist, the director of one of the largest Movement Disorders centers in the Middle East, at the Chaim Sheba Medical Center (CSMC), next to Tel-Aviv, in Israel.
She finished Medical studies at the Sackler Faculty of Medicine, Tel Aviv University (TAU), residency in Neurology, at CMSC (1991-1997) and fellowship in Movement disorders in Tel-Aviv Sourasky Medical Center (1997-8).
Since 1997, she is a senior neurologist at the Department of Neurology at CSMC and in 1999 she founded the Parkinson’s Disease and Movement Disorders Clinic, to become the Movement Disorders Institute in 2014, a center of knowledge and excellence, implementing advanced and unique treatment methodologies for movement disorders.
Prof. Hassin-Baer is a leading Movement Disorders specialist her skills are unique in their combination of expertise in diagnostics with pharmacologic and surgical interventions. She a leading advisor of The Israel Parkinson Association.
Prof. Hassin-Baer has been a staff member at TAU, teaching medical and physiotherapy students and serving 4 years as head of the Department of Neurology and Neurosurgery at the Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences. In 2016 she became an associate professor of Neurology and in 2024 a full professor.
Her research interests are the genetics of PD and other rare neurogenetic disorders, motor complications and nonmotor symptoms of PD, and neurophysiological biomarkers for neurological conditions.
Prof. Hassin-Baer is a mother of three, a classical and jazz singer, loves Pilates, swimming, cooking, and travels, and has a warm and loving personality providing an intimate approach and support for her patients.
