Natalia Olszewska, MD, MSc, NAAD Master graduate, is a physician and neuroscientist working at the intersection of brain health, human sciences, and the built environment. Her work examines how everyday environments act as continuous exposures shaping the human nervous system, influencing stress regulation, cognitive functioning, recovery, and long-term health. Natalia received her medical training at the Jagiellonian University Medical College and the University of Rome Tor Vergata. She pursued advanced studies in neuroscience at University College London (UCL), École Normale Supérieure (ENS), and the Sorbonne, and completed specialist training in Neuroscience Applied to Architectural Design at IUAV University of Venice. With a clinical background, Natalia approaches the built environment as a modifiable determinant of brain health rather than a neutral context. Her interests lie particularly in prevention — before clinical intervention is required — and in the translation of neuroscientific and physiological knowledge into operational frameworks that can inform real-world decisions in architecture, urban environments, and organisations. Natalia is the co-founder and research lead of IMPRONTA, an international research and advisory studio focused on health-driven decision-making in the built environment. She also contributes to academic education, including teaching within the Neuroscience Applied to Architectural Design (NAAD) programme at IUAV University in Venice.
