Matej Skorvanek is a professor and current chair of the Movement Disorders Unit and Center for Rare Movement Disorders at the Safarik University in Kosice, Slovakia, he is also the current chair of the Slovak Movement Disorders Society and program leader of the Slovak Brain Health Mission. He did his PhD at the University of Groningen, Netherlands and did MD fellowships also at UCL Queens square London, UK and Charles University in Prague, Czechia. His main research interests include genetic aspects of parkinsonism and hyperkinetic movement disorders as well as biomarkers of prodromal Parkinsons disease, he currently leads several projects and cohorts in this area. He is the past chair of the MDS-ES education committee.
