Prof. MUDr. Ivan Rektor, CSc, FCMA, FANA, FEAN
Professor at Masaryk University, Department of Neurology (Chair 1992-2012) and Central European Institute of Technology, Neuroscience Centre. Vice-rector of Masaryk University (2006-2011). He worked on baboon myoclonus in Gif-sur-Yvette, France. He was teaching at University Paris VII and performed research with the intracerebral recordings at Hôpital Ste Anne. He introduced epilepsy surgery and movement disorders treatment including deep brain stimulation in Brno. He organized several international congresses in Europe, Japan, Canada, Thailand etc. He was teaching in Nicaragua, Mongolia, Japan, Ukraine etc. He is organising International Epilepsy Surgery Courses in Brno since 2006. He was member of boards of international societies and editorial boards of international scientific journals. His research interests are focused on epilepsy, intracerebral recordings, deep brain stimulation, music in brain and extreme war stress, including Holocaust survivors three generation and acute war stress in Ukrainian refugees.
