Tomek, Aleš

Assoc. Prof. Aleš Tomek, M.D., Ph.D., FESO, is a Czech neurologist specialising in cerebrovascular diseases. He is Head of the Comprehensive Stroke Centre and clinical chief of the Department of Neurology at Charles University’s 2nd Medical School and University Hospital Motol in Prague. He currently serves as Chief Operations Officer of the Stroke Action Plan for Europe and Chairman of the Executive Committee of Czech Cerebrovascular Section of Czech Neurology Society. His main research interests in stroke medicine are organisation and quality measurement of stroke care, neurointensive care and the pharmacogenetics of antithrombotic drugs.
