Michal Minár, MD, PhD works at the Second Department of Neurology, Faculty of Medicine of Comenius University Bratislava since graduation in 2009. He completed Postgraduate Certificate in Neurology at Slovak Medical University in 2015. As a clinician, he specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of neurodegenerative and movement disorders – especially treatment of advanced stages of Parkinson’s disease by pump systems. He achieved his PhD (2013) and associate professorship (2018) with a focus on epidemiology and pathogenesis of secondary restless legs syndrome. His research is nowadays focused mainly on differential diagnosis and specific treatment of tremor, dystonia, and functional movement disorders. Beyond his clinical and academic expertise, Dr. Minár is actively engaged in the international neurology community, frequently participating in scientific congresses and expert panels.
